Paris Saint-Germain have set their sights on JJ Gabriel, a promising 16-year-old attacking midfielder developed at Manchester United. The capital club are not in pole position, though: at this stage, Real Madrid are leading the chase and Bayern Munich find themselves in a situation similar to PSG’s.
Overview
Still without a first-team appearance for the Red Devils, the Enfield-born player already wants a change of scenery. His start to the 2026-2027 campaign has caught the eye: in three matches between the U21s and the Youth League, he has tallied 5 goals and 2 assists. A trajectory that could lead to a departure as early as January 2027, as he targets a first professional contract.
Transfer landscape
Four clubs are being persistently linked with this case: Real Madrid and FC Barcelona in La Liga, as well as Bayern Munich and PSG. According to information relayed by Fabrizio Romano, Paris and Bayern are not as far along as Real Madrid, currently considered the best placed. The Madrid club have even already made contact with Manchester United.
Also according to these reports, TeamTalk see Real as the "favorite" and mention an offer deemed attractive by the player's camp. Manchester United are said to be expecting a fee of around €410,000, an amount limited by JJ Gabriel being a minor. By contrast, PSG do not wish to match the sum put on the table by the Spanish club, a stance shared by Bayern Munich. As a result, Paris and the Rekordmeister remain on the lookout but are not the favorites.
Financials and offers
For now, Real’s advantage is explained as much by the progress of their talks as by their willingness to meet Manchester United’s financial expectations. FC Barcelona remain in the hunt, while PSG will either have to reassess their effort or count on a twist to get back in the race by the winter. The deal remains open, but the gap is widening in Madrid’s favor.
